Job summary

AMK Technology in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia seeks an experienced L2 Application Support Engineer to own second-line support, incident triage, and log analysis in a banking tech environment. You will debug Java, Python, and JavaScript, manage Linux/Windows servers, and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in production support, strong SQL skills, and expertise with RESTful APIs and containerization using Docker/Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in application support, software engineering, or production support environments.
• Mandatory domain experience in banking or financial services software systems.
• Strong programming and scripting proficiency in Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
• Deep hands-on troubleshooting experience across Linux and Windows server operating systems.
• Solid SQL and relational database administration knowledge.
• Proven proficiency in API design, integration, and RESTful service validation.
• Mandatory Nationality/Citizenship Requirement: Malaysian National.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert L2 application support, incident management, and problem resolution for enterprise banking software systems.
• Troubleshoot and debug backend and frontend scripts utilizing Java, Python, and JavaScript.
• Perform robust system administration, fault isolation, and log analysis across Linux and Windows operating environments.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and database validation scripts to troubleshoot transaction flows.
• Design, test, and consume RESTful APIs and microservices integration endpoints.
• Administer Jenkins CI/CD build pipelines and support DevOps deployment automation workflows.
• Manage and troubleshoot containerized applications utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and container registries.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum sprint ceremonies, daily standups, and backlog grooming utilizing Jira.
• Collaborate proactively with banking domain stakeholders, software developers, and infrastructure operations teams in Kuala Lumpur.
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents, perform root-cause analysis (RCA), and establish permanent preventive measures.
