Job summary

VERONA BAKE (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Bakery Assistant for Aeon Bandaraya Melaka to support daily store operations, assist customers, weigh and price items, and ensure accurate payments.

You will manage ingredient inventory, monitor expiry dates, maintain appealing display, and assist in kitchen cleaning and preparation for the next day. Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required; training and staff discounts are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM certificate or equivalent.
• Experience in serving customers in a bakery environment preferred.
• Proficiency in weighing, pricing, packaging, and processing payments of baked goods.
• Knowledge of food and health industry regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Weighing, pricing, and packaging purchased items, and processing payments.
• Managing the baking ingredients inventory and requesting stock.
• Tracking ingredient expiry dates and arranging their use accordingly.
• Monitoring the display and availability of baked goods on display.
• Reporting low baked goods stock to the Baker in a timely manner.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy baked goods counter and performing other duties on request.
• Cleaning the kitchen after business hours and preparing it for the next day.
• Managing customer complaints and relaying them to the Baker.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
