Job summary

Verona Bake (M) Sdn Bhd in Johor Bahru is seeking a Bakery Assistant to weigh, price and package goods, handle payments, and manage stock. You’ll maintain clean displays and assist with inventory and safety compliance.

The role requires strong communication in Malay and English (Mandarin preferred) and a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities include inventory control, order placement, and ensuring food safety standards are met, while delivering excellent service

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM certificate or equivalent.
• Previous experience in serving customers in a bakery environment preferred.
• Proficiency in weighing, pricing, packaging, and processing payments of baked goods.
• Knowledge of food and health industry regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Sound knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
• Able to communicate in Malay and English, or Mandarin to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, price, package purchased items and process payments.
• Manage the baking ingredients inventory and request stock purchases.
• Track ingredient expiry dates and arrange their use accordingly.
• Monitor display of baked goods for visual appeal and availability.
• Report low baked goods stock to the Baker in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, tidy counter and perform other duties as requested.
• Clean the kitchen after business hours and prepare it for the next day.
• Manage customer complaints and relay them to the Baker.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
