Job summary

GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a skilled Baker to join our Bakery Department.

You will prepare, bake and present a variety of bakery products while upholding high standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and customer satisfaction. Key duties include measuring ingredients, operating ovens and mixers, monitoring baking processes, stock rotation and ensuring a clean, well‑ordered production area.

Qualifications

• Maintain high standards of product quality, food safety, hygiene and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of bakery products including bread, pastries, cakes and other bakery items according to company recipes and standards.
• Measure, mix and prepare ingredients accurately according to recipes.
• Operate bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers and other baking tools safely and efficiently.
• Monitor baking processes to ensure consistent product quality, taste and appearance.
• Perform dough preparation, shaping, proofing and finishing of bakery products.
• Ensure all bakery products are freshly prepared and displayed attractively.
• Conduct quality checks on raw materials and finished products.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bakery production area, equipment and utensils.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients according to food safety standards.
• Practise stock rotation using FIFO and FEFO principles.
• Assist with stock ordering, inventory checks and wastage control.
• Follow Food Safety, Hygiene and SOPs.
• Support promotional activities and seasonal bakery production.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Bakery Supervisor or Management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, baking and presenting a variety of bakery products while maintaining high standards of product quality, food safety, hygiene and customer satisfaction.
