Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a bakery/pastry assistant to join the team in Johor Bahru. Prior experience is not required and interns are welcome to apply.

You will assist pastry chefs, operate bakery equipment, and help with packing, labeling, and stock rotation while maintaining hygiene and safety.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of bakery or pastry preparation.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to stand for long hours and perform physical tasks.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Performance bonus twice a year based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist pastry chefs and bakers with doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings.
• Operate bakery equipment and keep the kitchen area clean.
• Help with packing, labeling, and stock rotation.
• Ensure hygiene and safety compliance at all times.
• Bake breads such as pretzels, baguettes and multigrain breads.
• Prepare fillings for cakes and pies (e.g., ganache, caramel, fruits).
• Decorate cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings.

We're looking for bakery/pastry assistant experienced or not experienced to join our team. Students who want to apply internship also welcome to apply.

Job Description:

• Assist pastry chefs and bakers in preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings.
• Operate bakery equipment and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area.
• Help with packing, labeling, and stock rotation.
• Ensure hygiene and safety compliance at all times.
• Bake different bread types, like pretzels, baguettes and multigrain breads.
• Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes and pies (e.g. chocolate ganache, caramel sauce and fruits).
• Decorate cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings, like flowers.
