Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Malaysia is seeking an experienced ORM professional to lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and ensure preventive measures mitigate recurrence. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the Shared Service Center to strengthen the ORM framework and align with head office requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Operation Risk Management (ORM).
• Strong incident analytical skills; knowledge of RCSA and Key Control Testing (KCT).
• Banking industry or shared service center experience preferred.
• Good communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Good initiative and time management.
• Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform incident investigations and analysis with stakeholders, ensuring adherence to framework and identification of root causes.
• Improve ORM framework in SSC by coordinating RCSA and acting as central liaison for insourcing branches on RCSA matters; define and execute KCT with regular reporting to management.
• Execute in-office inspections following Head Office rules.
• Escalate issues to Supervisor/Management in a timely manner.
• Relieve or cover duties in the department as needed and perform duties as assigned.

• Perform incident investigations and analysis by working closely with stakeholders:
  • Ensure the adherence of relevant framework,
  • Ensure the root causes are correctly and exhaustively identified,
  • Ensure that preventive measures are effective in mitigating risk of recurrence.
• To improve ORM Framework in Shared Service Center (SSC) by:
  • Work with all department of SSC to complete the RCSA.
  • Be central point of contact of SSC to liaise with insourcing branches on RCSA matter.
  • Define and execute Key Control Testing (KCT) with regular reporting to management.
• To execute In-Office Inspection according to the Head Office rules.
• Ensure timely escalation to Supervisor/Management in case of any issues.
• To relief or cover duties of staff members in the department in his/her absence.
• To perform duties as assigned.

Minimum 5 years' solid experience in Operation Risk Management (ORM).

Strong incident analytical skills required, with the knowledge of developing RCSA and Key Control Testing (KCT).

Preferably experience candidate from banking industry or shared service center.

Good communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Good initiative and ability to manage own time.

Ability to effectively prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines and work objectives.

Ability to manage various stakeholders on various tasks/topics.
