Job summary

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources.

The role focuses on owning and driving AVI equipment performance, troubleshooting, and implementing CAPA while collaborating across Manufacturing, Process, R&D, and Quality to ensure top-line equipment capability and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Automation or equivalent.
• Minimum 4-5 years of working experience in semiconductor manufacturing equipment engineering.
• Experience with AVI, AOI, Vision Inspection, or Metrology equipment.
• Experience leading equipment installation, qualification, and technology transfer projects.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0, automation, data analytics, or machine learning applications in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of equipment reliability engineering, OEE, MTBF, MTTR, SPC, FDC, and process control methodologies.
• Proficient in structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies, including 8D, FMEA, DMAIC, Lean, and Six Sigma tools.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Responsibilities

• Own and drive overall performance, reliability, and availability of AVI equipment to achieve operational targets.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions for equipment-related issues.
• Develop, optimize, and sustain preventive maintenance and machine health monitoring programs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment uptime, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Lead equipment installation, qualification, upgrades, and technology transfer activities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process, R&D, Quality, and vendors to resolve technical issues and improve equipment capability.
• Serve as the technical expert for AVI equipment, providing leadership, coaching, and knowledge sharing to engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while supporting automation and digitalization initiatives.
