Job summary

ams OSRAM Malaysia in Bayan Lepas is seeking an AVI Equipment Reliability Engineer to own and drive the performance, reliability, and availability of AVI equipment. You will provide leadership and knowledge sharing to engineers and technicians, and lead troubleshooting and preventive maintenance programs.

The role requires strong experience with AVI/AOI/ Vision Inspection equipment, technology transfer, and applying Industry 4.0 concepts to improve uptime, quality, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Automation or equivalent.
• Minimum 4–5 years in semiconductor manufacturing equipment engineering.
• Experience with AVI, AOI, Vision Inspection, or Metrology equipment.
• Experience leading equipment installation, qualification, and technology transfer projects.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0, automation, data analytics, or machine learning in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of equipment reliability engineering, OEE, MTBF/MTTR, SPC, FDC, and process control methodologies.
• Proficient in structured problem-solving and continuous improvement (8D, FMEA, DMAIC, Lean, Six Sigma).
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Independent with initiative and good analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment-related issues.
• Develop and sustain preventive maintenance and machine health monitoring programs.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance uptime, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Lead installation, qualification, upgrades, and technology transfer activities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process, R&D, Quality, and vendors to resolve technical issues.
