Job summary

Plexus Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an Automation Technician to design, implement, and maintain automated solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety in our production lines.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, repair components such as sensors, PLCs and HMIs, and assist in installing and calibrating new equipment on shift.

Qualifications

• Diploma in electronics/manufacturing/engineering.
• At least 3 years of related experience.
• Able to work shifts.
• Equivalents may be considered with suitable experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on automated machinery, robotics, and control systems to minimize downtime and optimize production.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on automated equipment.
• Repair or replace faulty components including sensors, motors, PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices.
• Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new automated production lines and equipment.

Job description

Purpose Statement: The Automation Technician will provide technical expertise and problem-solving skills to design, implement, and maintain automated solutions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safety within Plexus. Through continuous learning and innovation, they strive to optimize operations and contribute to Plexus' success.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on automated machinery, robotics, and control systems to minimize downtime and optimize production.
• Utilizes appropriate tools to perform necessary work including creation, analysis, and verification of documentation, programs, models, processes or production as it applies to their role. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on automated equipment.
• Repair or replace faulty components, including sensors, motors, PLCs, HMI, and other control devices.
• Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new automated production lines and equipment.
• Demonstrates an intermediate, discipline-specific understanding of how they support the full Plexus manufacturing processes / product requirements & specifications / cross discipline OR supplier coordination, as it applies to their role.
• Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new automated production lines and equipment.

Job Requirements

• Technical diploma preferably with a minimum of a Diploma in a discipline related to Electronics / Manufacturing / Engineering or Science
• Minimum Three(3) year of related experience is required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
• Able to work shifts
