Job summary

Plexus is seeking a seasoned Process Engineer Lead to drive standardization and continuous improvement across PCB assembly and related processes at our Penang site. You will leadTeams, deploy equipment strategies, and supervise a technical team to meet high engineering standards.

The role emphasizes deep PCB knowledge, strong communication skills, and capability to mentor engineers while aligning with customer technology requirements and continuous improvement goals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering; minimum 8 years experience or equivalent.
• Strong written communication skills for engineering analysis and spec writing.
• Strong oral communication across all levels within the organization.
• Good technical knowledge of complex PCB assembly including wave soldering and system assembly processes.
• Experience in management/supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams and User Groups to establish standards based on best practices and CI projects.
• Establish equipment strategies; lead evaluations of equipment and materials; implement CI programs and process controls.
• Deploy, monitor, and improve key metrics related to Process Engineering.
• Lead projects to optimize existing PCBA processes continuously.
• Support customer tech requirements during quotes and new product introductions.
• Provide day-to-day engineering support to Production and mentor site technical resources.
• Oversee asset/resource management and supervise Process Engineers/Technicians.

Job description

Lead teams and User Groups in establishing standards based on best practices and continuous improvement projects.

Establish equipment strategies, lead equipment and materials evaluations Implement continuous improvement programs and process controls related to Process Engineering.

This includes deployment, monitoring, and improvement of key metrics.

Leads project teams to optimize existing PCBA processes on a continuous basis.

Support quote activities by reviewing and ensuring all customer technology requirements are met.

Provides DFM feedback through active participation in new product introduction activities.

Provides day to day engineering support to Production.

Mentor and train Site technical resources in various processes, required tools and philosophies.

Support asset and resource management intra-site.

This includes supervising Process Engineers/Technicians.

Additional duties as assigned by management.

Job requirements:

Degree in Engineering with minimum 8 years working experience or equivalent.

Strong written communication skills, especially in the area of engineering analysis and spec writing.

Sound technical knowledge and skills in complex printed circuit board assembly including wave soldering and system assembly processes.

Strong oral communication skills across all levels within the organization.

Management / supervisory skills.
