Job summary

Estek Automation Sdn Bhd in Batu Kawan, Penang, is seeking a Field Application Engineer to join our growing team. You will bridge between our engineering group and clients, delivering on-site installation, configuration and optimisation of automation systems while ensuring customer satisfaction and project success.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 2–5 years of field experience, strong PLC and automation knowledge, and excellent communication

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of field engineering, automation systems or industrial equipment support.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, automation systems and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and methodical problem solving.
• Good English communication; other languages are a plus.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within Penang.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and commission automation systems at client sites.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures.
• Conduct on-site training for customers on system operation and maintenance.
• Document system configurations, installations and performance metrics.
• Liaise between customers and internal engineering team for requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and optimisations.
• Identify opportunities for system enhancements and cost savings.
• Maintain records of field visits and interventions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of installation and support processes.
