Job summary

Advance Micro Surface Finishing Sdn Bhd in Penang/Simpang Ampat seeks an Automation Engineer to integrate and support automated systems across the plant.

You will collaborate with suppliers, system integrators and internal teams for installation, commissioning and testing, while driving Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives, including data collection and process automation.

Must have hands-on PLC/robotics experience, CAD skills, and be prepared for urgent breakdown support.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
• Hands-on PLC troubleshooting and industrial robotics support.
• Knowledge of electrical control circuits, safety interlocks, and industrial comms.
• English and Bahasa Malaysia communication skills.
• On-call support for urgent breakdowns.
• Design jigs/fixtures using CAD software.
• Basic knowledge of control cards (Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Job description

Integrate and troubleshoot automated machines, robotics, PLC, HMI, sensors, servo systems, and machine vision systems

Coordinate with machine suppliers, system integrators and internal departments for automation projects, installation, commissioning and testing

Support and drive the implementation of Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives, including machine connectivity, production data collection, monitoring and process automation

Qualification Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.

Hands-on experience in PLC troubleshooting and industrial robotics support

Strong knowledge in electrical control circuits, safety interlock systems, and industrial communication

Good Communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Must be able to support urgent breakdown situations / On-Call Support

Able to design jigs and fixtures using CAD software.

Basic Knowledge on control card (Arduino, Raspberry Pi & etc)
