This role involves defining requirements and documenting the design of BMS and EMS systems for new facilities to a basic design level of detail, including user requirements specifications, system architecture, layouts, and I/O lists. You will ensure consistency with previous engineering design projects while continuously improving design documentation according to industry best practices.

Experience with the fundamental instrument requirements to control the equipment within the AHU.
Experience in the design requirements for instrumentation to monitor clean room pharmaceutical environments
As required, undertake HVAC engineering activities such as AHU zoning, air handling schematics development, HVAC calculations, HVAC equipment placement, ductwork sizing & routing, supply air and return grille location, construction and material specifications.
Utilize design codes, client standards, industry guidelines and follow established design criteria.
Produce material take-offs suitable for the level of the estimate being performed on the project.
Support procurement activities, including coordination with vendors and vendor drawing reviews.
Check vendor submittals and engineering drawings for errors and fitness for purpose.
Assist in preparing and/or reviewing installation and commissioning test documents.
Work with other disciplines to assure the project design is complete and accurate.
Ensure deliverables meet the scope and client expectations.
Generate estimates for engineering workload and schedule.
Plan the work under responsibility of this position, and track and report work in progress.
Identify and resolve open issues or conflicting information on projects.
Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies as needed to determine the simplest and most efficient solutions to engineering challenges.
Other project related tasks as deemed necessary.

Minimum BSc. in Mechanical/Electrical/Automation Engineering with 5 years' related experience or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Automation Engineering with 10 years' related experience
Experience with industrial automation/control and monitoring systems, such as BMS and EMS
Strong general engineering and design skills, with high attention to detail
Experience in HVAC systems including calculations for heat load psychrometric chart, air balancing, mass balancing line sizing and duct sizing is preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD
Knowledge of international standards such as ISPE, GAMP 5, PIC/S, FDA, GMP, ISO 14644, NEBB, SMACNA, AHRI, CTI, FM, ASME, AMCA, ASHRAE and MASHRAE
Comfortable working alone or in a team environment, maintain a positive and professional relationships with co-workers and management and able to coach junior staff on technical questions
Familiarity with the use of design and drafting standards and GMP requirements
Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria
Excellent planning and organization skills
