RA Robotics & Automation Sdn Bhd is seeking an Automation Electrical Technician in Kuching/Johor to join a hands-on team. The role focuses on electrical installation, wiring, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of custom automation machines and robotic systems.
You will collaborate with engineers and programmers to ensure proper wiring, testing, and handover to customers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with electrical systems, PLCs, sensors, actuators, and control panels.

Based in Sama Jaya Free Industrial Zone (FIZ), Kuching, RA is growing rapidly with active operations in both Kuching and Johor.
We are looking for an Automation Electrical Technician to join our hands-on engineering team. This role focuses primarily on electrical wiring, PLC I/O, sensors, actuators, control systems, machine commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Candidates may be based in Kuching or Johor, with travel to customer sites required.
As an Automation Electrical Technician, you will be involved in the electrical installation, wiring, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of custom-built automation machines and robotic systems.
You will work closely with Project Engineers, Electrical/Controls Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Programmers, and customers to ensure machines are properly wired, tested, commissioned, and handed over.
This is a highly hands-on position suited to candidates who enjoy working with electrical systems, PLCs, sensors, actuators, control panels, and industrial automation equipment.
Perform electrical wiring and installation for automation machines, control panels, and machine systems.
Wire and terminate PLC I/O, sensors, actuators, solenoid valves, motors, drives, switches, and other control devices.
Install and connect cables, terminal blocks, relays, circuit breakers, power supplies, safety devices, and control components.
Perform cable routing, dressing, labeling, crimping, ferrule installation, and proper cable termination.
Perform point-to-point wiring checks against electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Ensure electrical wiring is neat, properly labeled, secure, and meets RA's quality and safety standards.
Assist with electrical control panel assembly, modification, and troubleshooting.
Perform PLC I/O wiring, point-to-point checking, I/O verification, and signal testing.
Check and troubleshoot digital and analog I/O signals.
Verify sensor and actuator signals between field devices and the PLC/control system.
Assist engineers and programmers during PLC debugging and machine commissioning.
Troubleshoot wiring, signal, communication, and control-related issues.
Understand basic PLC concepts including inputs, outputs, interlocks, alarms, sensor feedback, and actuator commands.
Support PLC panel modification and I/O expansion when required.
Install, wire, test, and troubleshoot industrial sensors including:

Verify sensor positioning, wiring, signal response, and actuator operation.
Work with engineers to resolve sensor and actuator-related issues during machine commissioning.
Support machine electrical commissioning at workshops and customer sites.
Perform machine power-up checks and electrical verification.
Conduct point-to-point checks, I/O checks, sensor checks, actuator checks, and safety circuit verification.
Support machine debugging together with engineers and PLC programmers.
Verify machine functions against engineering specifications and customer requirements.
Perform Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) checks before machine shipment.
Support Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), and machine run‑off activities.
Troubleshoot electrical, control, sensor, actuator, pneumatic, and basic machine-related issues.
Diagnose faults using electrical schematics, PLC I/O status, multimeters, and other testing equipment.
Identify wiring faults, loose connections, incorrect sensor signals, actuator failures, and I/O problems.
Work closely with engineers and programmers to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Perform corrective actions and machine modifications during commissioning.
Provide technical support during machine installation and production ramp‑up.
Travel to customer facilities in Kuching, Johor, and other locations when required.
Perform machine electrical installation, wiring, I/O checking, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
Support machine relocation, installation, modification, and production ramp‑up activities.
Communicate professionally with customer engineers and technicians.
Provide on‑site technical and after‑sales support.
Prepare service reports and document technical findings, issues, and corrective actions.
Support engineers during machine fabrication, prototype development, commissioning, and improvement activities.
Assist with machine electrical modifications and improvement projects.
Provide feedback on wiring, sensor placement, component accessibility, and machine serviceability.
Maintain proper documentation of wiring changes, I/O checks, and site modifications.
Follow RA's engineering, safety, quality, and documentation procedures.

Fresh graduates with a strong interest in industrial automation are welcome.
Basic to strong knowledge of electrical wiring and industrial control systems, depending on experience.
Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Knowledge of PLC I/O, sensors, actuators, relays, solenoid valves, motors, drives, and safety circuits is an advantage.
Hands‑on experience with electrical tools such as multimeters, crimping tools, cable termination tools, and general hand tools.
Experience with PLC systems such as Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, Keyence, or similar is an advantage.
Experience with servo motors, servo drives, stepper motors, or electric actuators is an advantage.
Experience with pneumatic systems and industrial sensors is preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving mindset.
Able to work hands‑on in workshop and customer‑site environments.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willing to travel between Kuching and Johor and to customer sites as required.
Experience in semiconductor, HDD, electronics manufacturing, or cleanroom environments is an advantage.
Enjoys hands‑on electrical and automation work.
Is interested in understanding how machines work, not just performing wiring.
Is willing to learn new automation technologies and equipment.
Can work together with engineers and programmers during machine commissioning.
Is responsible, detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious, and willing to work in a fast‑paced project environment.
