Tyson Foods Malaysia is seeking an experienced Electrical & Automation Technician to plan and perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, automation systems, and production lines. You will lead junior technicians, troubleshoot PLC/HMI/VFD systems, and implement efficiency improvements.
You will read schematics, document activities, and support shutdowns while maintaining safety and 5S standards across the plant.

Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance activities for electrical equipment, automation systems, production lines, and facility utilities. Assign and monitor maintenance tasks for junior technicians.
Support, maintain, and troubleshoot automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, and control panels.
Identify and implement improvements related to automation, process optimization, machine reliability, and energy-saving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Troubleshooting
Perform complex electrical and automation troubleshooting to identify root causes and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently, minimizing production downtime.
Performance Testing & Documentation
Conduct performance testing after maintenance or repairs to ensure equipment operates within specifications.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for work performed by junior technicians and contractors.
Training & Technical Support
Provide technical support during planned shutdowns, breakdowns, and emergency maintenance.
Coach and train junior electricians on electrical troubleshooting, automation basics, component replacement, and safe maintenance practices.
Leadership
Lead and supervise junior electricians, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, PLC I/O diagrams, and control circuit diagrams while providing technical guidance to the team.
Communication
Communicate maintenance findings, equipment status, and technical issues effectively with supervisors and cross-functional teams.
Actively update maintenance activities through WhatsApp, Redzone, or other maintenance management systems.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to 5S standards.
Safety Compliance
Comply with all electrical safety procedures, LOTO requirements, and company safety policies.
Ensure timely submission of monthly SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) reports and actively participate in safety initiatives.

Diploma or Certificate in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related technical field.
A4 Chargeman Certificate is preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
Hands‑on experience with industrial automation systems, including PLC, HMI, VFD, sensors, actuators, control panels, and instrumentation.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC control drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for electrical and automation systems.
Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
Good leadership skills with the ability to supervise and coach junior technicians.
Familiarity with CMMS, Redzone, or similar maintenance management systems is an advantage.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends, or during plant shutdowns when required.
