Job summary

ACTIVE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SDN BHD is seeking an AutoCAD & BIM Draughtsman for a data centre fire protection project in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. The role focuses on creating M&E shop drawings, modelling in BIM (Revit) and coordinating across trades to ensure compliant, clash-free designs.

Responsibilities include prefabrication drawings, revisions, and Bomba submissions. The position starts 15 November 2026 on a full-time contract basis with a renewal option.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Draughting or related field.
• At least 2 years' experience preparing M&E shop drawings; fire protection experience preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Experience with prefabricated pipe spool/fabrication drawings is an advantage.
• Revit (MEP) and Navisworks are a strong advantage; BIM-coordinated project experience is a plus.
• CIDB Green Card required or obtainable before starting.
• Data centre or large M&E project experience is preferred.
• English required; Mandarin preferred; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fire protection shop drawings for data centre project: sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel and pump room layouts.
• Build and update fire protection models in BIM (e.g. Revit) per LOD requirements.
• Coordinate across trades and perform clash detection; resolve clashes and update drawings.
• Prepare prefabrication and spool drawings for pipework and modules at fabrication facility.
• Revise drawings per consultant, client and Bomba comments; manage revisions and numbering.
• Prepare drawings for Bomba submissions and as-built drawings from site mark-ups.
• Collaborate with site supervisors, QA/QC and document controller to issue drawings via document control system.
• Coordinate with parent company’s engineering team in Singapore on standards and coordination.

AutoCAD & BIM Draughtsman - Fire Protection (Data Centre Project) Company: ACTIVE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SDN BHD Location: Iskandar Puteri, Johor (company office at Jalan Eko Botani 3, Iskandar Puteri; project site at Persiaran Teknologi Perintis, Gelang Patah) Employment type: Full-time, regular employment contract (not project-based), initial term of 1 year, renewable; probation as per company practice Salary: RM4,500 - RM6,000 per month Start date: 15 November 2026 (immediate availability preferred) About Us ACTIVE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SDN BHD is the Malaysian subsidiary of Singapore's Active Fire Protection Systems Pte. Ltd. (https://www.activefire.com.sg), a fire protection specialist established in 2001. Our parent company is registered with Singapore's BCA under ME06 Fire Prevention & Protection Systems at grade L6, the top grade, and delivers turnkey fire protection from design and fabrication (DfMA, at its own smart factory, AF Base) to installation and maintenance. It has completed 300+ projects across data centres, life sciences and industrial facilities, with data-centre clients including Google, Meta, Microsoft and AirTrunk. Newly set up in Iskandar Puteri, the Malaysian company is registered with Bomba as a Fire Safety Contractor and has just been awarded the fire protection works for a data centre project in Johor, with further projects to follow in Malaysia. You will be part of our founding team in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare fire protection shop drawings for the data centre project: sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel and pump room layouts, fire alarm and detection layouts, riser and schematic diagrams, sections and details
• Build and update fire protection models in BIM (e.g. Revit) according to the project BIM execution plan and level of development (LOD) requirements
• Take part in multi-trade coordination and clash detection (e.g. Navisworks), resolve clashes with other trades, and update drawings and models
• This project uses prefabricated pipework: prepare prefabrication and spool drawings for pipework and modules produced at our fabrication facility, and support quantity take-off and material lists
• Revise drawings based on consultant, client and Bomba comments, and manage drawing revisions and numbering
• Prepare drawings for Bomba submissions and as-built drawings from site mark-ups
• Work with the site supervisors, QA/QC and document controller to issue drawings through the project document control system
• Work with the parent company's engineering team in Singapore on drawing standards and design coordination

Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Draughting or a related field (or equivalent working experience)
• At least 2 years' experience preparing M&E shop drawings; fire protection (sprinkler / hydrant / fire alarm) experience is strongly preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD (required)
• Experience with prefabricated pipe spool / fabrication drawings is an advantage
• Revit (MEP) and Navisworks are a strong advantage; experience on BIM-coordinated projects is a plus
• Working knowledge of fire protection systems and Bomba drawing requirements is preferred
• CIDB personnel registration (Green Card) required. You must hold a valid card, or be able to obtain one before starting
• Data centre, mission-critical or large M&E project experience is preferred
• English required. Mandarin (Chinese) is preferred, as you will work closely with Chinese and Singaporean management and engineers
• Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
• Accurate, organised, and able to turn revisions around quickly
• Able to start on 15 November 2026 or at short notice
• Own transport is preferred (for site visits)

What We Offer

• Monthly salary: RM4,500 - RM6,000
