Job summary

LONGMOTIVE (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to oversee design review, installation supervision, testing and commissioning of fire protection systems. You will ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications across MEP construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Fire Engineer/Fire Protection Engineer in MEP construction.
• Experience in high-rise buildings, data centers, hospitals, or commercial projects is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Fire Fighting and Fire Alarm Systems.
• Solid understanding of sprinkler, hydrant, fire pump and FAS system design/installation.
• Ability to read and interpret fire system drawings, shop drawings and technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Design review and supervision of Fire Protection System installations to ensure compliance with safety standards, specs and regulations.
• On-site supervision of installation activities following approved drawings and method statements.
• Testing, commissioning and documentation of test reports.
• Progress reporting and coordination of key activities, constraints and follow-ups.
• Prepare handover documentation, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals for project closeout.
• Ensure QA/QC, codes, and authority requirements are met.

Job description

As an Engineer, You will be responsible for the design review, installation supervision, testing, and commissioning, of Fire Protection System to ensure compliance with safety standard, technical specification, and applicable regulations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Supervise and coordinate on-site installation activities to ensure works follow approved drawings, method statements, and project schedules.

2. Shop Drawings & Technical Submittals

• Prepare and review shop drawings, Method Statements, ITPs, and related technical submissions for consultant and client approval.

3. Progress Reporting

• Monitor daily and weekly progress, and report key activities, constraints, and required follow-up actions.
• Support inspections, testing, and commissioning activities. Ensure all test reports and documentation are complete and properly recorded.

5 Project Closeout

• Prepare handover documentation, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and support system handover and acceptance.

6. Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all fire protection works meet quality standards and comply with applicable codes, project specifications, and authority requirements.

QALIFICATIONS /JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 1. Bachelor’s degreein Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 2. Minimum 3-5 Years of experienceas a Fire Engineer/Fire Protection Engineer in MEP Construction Project. Experience in High rise buildings, Data Center, Hospitals, or Commercial Project is an advantage.
• 3. Technical Skills (Mandatory):
  • Strong knowledge of Fire Fighting and Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Solid understanding of the design and installation of sprinkler, hydrant, fire pump, and FAS systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret fire system drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
