Job summary

Union Applied Engineering Sdn. Bhd. seeks an Assistant Sales Manager to drive marine and offshore product sales across South-East Asia, with a focus on Malaysia. You will develop regional sales strategies, pursue new opportunities, and build strong relationships with shipyards, owners, and government bodies.

You will manage the full sales cycle, coordinate with engineering, logistics and procurement teams, and monitor milestones and KPIs to achieve targets in a dynamic SEA market.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience for Executive level.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience for Managerial level.
• Familiar with business in South-East Asia (SEA) and Malaysia market.
• Have contacts with Malaysia shipyards or ship-owners.
• Good knowledge and experience in Marine or offshore projects.

Responsibilities

• Sell and develop the marine and offshore product lines in SEA/Malaysia markets.

In this role you will be responsible for developing the sales network for our HQ (Union Steel Holdings - SG) diverse business portfolio into South-East Asia (SEA) markets. Our current key focus will be on our marine and offshore products line for Malaysia market.

Key responsibilities

Responsible for the sales for our marine and offshore products.

Develop regional sales and project strategies, advising Management on applicable models.

Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities and project pipelines across regional markets.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry players - clients, consultants, contractors, and government bodies.

Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to after-sales support, ensuring excellent client satisfaction.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, logistics, procurement) to ensure timely and effective project delivery.

Monitor project milestones, budgets, and performance metrics to meet sales targets and KPIs.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

At least 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience in the related industry (Applicable only to Executive)

At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the related industry (Applicable only to Managerial)

Familiar with business in South-East Asia (SEA) and Malaysia market.

Have contacts with Malaysia shipyard or ship-owner.

Have good knowledge and experience in Marine or offshore projects.
