Job summary

Yokogawa Electric (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive Proposal Engineer to prepare technical and commercial proposals for DCS, SIS, FGS, PLC, and SCADA solutions. You will define scope, review specifications, and coordinate with engineering and sales teams to ensure compliant tender submissions.

The role requires travel when needed and effective collaboration with regional Yokogawa teams to develop competitive, technically differentiating proposals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for DCS, SIS, FGS, HIPPS, PLC, SCADA and Yokogawa solutions.
• Develop technical solutions including system architecture and product selection.
• Support costing, quotations, and tender strategy with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate proposal submissions to meet customer deadlines and tender requirements.
• Engage in customer/EPC meetings and clarify technical aspects during the tender stage.

Job Description:

Preparation of technical and commercial proposals for DCS, SIS, FGS, HIPPS, PLC, SCADA and other Yokogawa solutions.

Involve in ITT/RFQ, specifications, datasheets, drawings, commercial requirements and contractual conditions.

Assist in proposal strategy, scope definition, compliance matrix and technical deviations.

Coordinate proposal submissions to meet customer deadlines and tender requirements.

2. Technical Solution Development

Assist in system architecture, I/O configuration, network architecture and overall solution concept.

Assist in selecting appropriate Yokogawa products and solutions based on customer requirements.

Coordinate with engineering, product specialists, vendors and regional Yokogawa organizations for technical clarification.

Identify technical risks, exclusions, assumptions and deviations during the tender stage.

3. Costing & Commercial Support

Prepare project cost estimates covering hardware, software, engineering, project management, installation, commissioning and other services.

Obtain and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotations.

Work closely with sales team to establish competitive pricing and target margin.

Support cost optimization and value engineering without compromising technical compliance.

Maintain confidentiality of project costing and vendor pricing.

Act as the main coordinator between Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Project Management and other stakeholders during proposal preparation.

Consolidate technical and commercial inputs into a complete proposal.

Assist to manage clarification cycles with customers and EPC contractors.

Ensure all tender requirements are properly addressed before submission.

Support Sales in developing the technical win strategy and competitive positioning.

Assist in analysing competitor solutions and identify Yokogawa's technical differentiators.

Participate in customer/EPC technical meetings, presentations and clarification sessions.

Support Sales during negotiation and post-bid clarification.

Requirements:

A Degree or Diploma in Process Control / Electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation / Chemical / Mechanical Engineering or any related field

Able to travel outstation / overseas as and when required

Self-motivated with initiative and strong interpersonal & communication skills

Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply.
