Job summary

LAL ECO CONSTRUCTION SDN.BHD. is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager (Fit-Out) to lead fit-out projects from initiation to completion. You will coordinate project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and consultants to meet timelines, budgets, quality standards, design specifications, and safety requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and the ability to read drawings and manage multiple tasks under pressure to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in project management, fit-out, renovation or related field.
• Proven experience coordinating fit-out/renovation projects.
• Reads construction drawings and project documents, understands specs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage fit-out projects from start to finish.
• Develop and monitor schedules, programmes and milestones.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site staff, and project team.
• Oversee day-to-day fit-out activities to ensure quality and safety.
• Keep projects compliant with drawings, specs and client requirements.
• Liaise with clients, architects, consultants, and authorities.
• Maintain project records: reports, minutes, drawings, approvals.
• Coordinate testing, inspection, snagging and rectification.

Job description

As a valued member of our team, the Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager (Fit-Out) will be responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and overseeing fit-out projects from project commencement through completion. The role involves coordinating project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients to ensure projects are delivered according to the agreed timeline, budget, quality standards, design specifications, and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage fit-out projects from commencement to completion
• Develop and monitor project schedules, work programmes, and key milestones
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site staff, and project team members
• Oversee day-to-day fit-out and renovation activities to ensure proper execution
• Ensure project activities comply with applicable safety, health, and environmental requirements
• Monitor project budgets and control project costs to minimise cost overruns
• Ensure all fit-out works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and client requirements
• Liaise with clients, architects, interior designers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities
• Maintain proper project records, including progress reports, meeting minutes, drawings, submissions, approvals, and inspection records
• Coordinate testing, inspection, snagging, and rectification works

About you

• Minimum 5 years and above of experience in project management, fit-out, renovation, interior construction, or a similar role
• Proven experience in managing and coordinating fit-out / renovation projects
• Strong knowledge of fit-out construction processes, site coordination, and project execution
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Good project planning, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet project deadlines
• Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, Project Management, or related field
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
