GC Packaging in Malaysia seeks an proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Production Manager to oversee daily production operations in our food packaging facility. You will plan schedules, supervise teams, ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
You will drive continuous improvement (Lean, 5S, Kaizen), analyze data, manage resources, coordinate with QC, Maintenance and Warehouse, and mentor staff to meet targets in a fast-paced environment.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Production Manager to oversee and manage daily production operations in our food packaging facility. This role ensures that production activities run efficiently, meet quality and safety standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Description:
Plan, monitor, and manage daily production schedules to meet operational targets.
Supervise production teams to ensure productivity, safety, and adherence to company standards.
Coordinate with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams for smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and industry standards (e.g., ISO9001, FSSC22000, ISO22000).
Analyze production data (output, downtime, defects) and implement corrective actions where needed.
Monitor raw material usage and minimize production waste.
Assist in resource planning (manpower, equipment, materials).
Identify and resolve issues that arise during the thermoforming process, such as defects or inconsistencies.
Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to avoid recurring problems.
Work with maintenance teams to address equipment malfunctions and ensure proper functioning.
Train and mentor production operators, leaders, supervisors and junior staff.
Monitor workers’ disciplinary issues and work closely with the HR department to address and resolve them appropriately.
Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen).
Prepare reports on production performance, incidents, and process improvements.
Ensure proper documentation and traceability in accordance with audit and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
5-6 years of relevant experience in a food packaging or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., GMP, HACCP, ISO).
Experience in managing or supervising production teams and warehouse team.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
