Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an engineer with a minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related fields) to lead process and production management in a palm oil mill environment. A Grade 2 Steam Engineer Certificate is a plus, and familiarity with ISO 9001, MSPO SCCS and safety standards is preferred.

The role emphasizes leadership, problem-solving and effective communication to drive compliance, maintenance, and continuous improvement across production, quality, and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related fields).
• 2 years experience in palm oil mill industry is beneficial.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, MSPO SCCS, and safety standards (training will be provided if needed).
• Grade 2 Steam Engineer Certificate Holder will be highly advantaged.

Responsibilities

• Process and Production Management: Ensure compliance with ISO procedures, quality standards, and operational efficiency.
• Maintenance and Equipment Oversight: Develop preventive maintenance schedules and supervise workshop staff and contractors.
• Inventory and Laboratory Operations: Manage inventory, engineering stores, and ensure stock availability; conduct product quality tests and equipment calibration.
• Environmental and Safety Compliance: Oversee effluent treatment, environmental reporting, and ensure workplace safety.
• Team and Resource Coordination: Mobilize manpower, supervise team activities, and provide training support.
• Reporting and Continuous Improvement: Monitor production, maintenance, and quality performance; implement improvements.

• Oversee production processes, address quality issues, and assist in steam plant and wastewater treatment operations.

Maintenance and Equipment Oversight

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and policies.

• Supervise workshop staff, contractors, and ensure proper functioning of all mechanical and electrical equipment.

Inventory and Laboratory Operations

• Manage inventory levels, engineering stores, and ensure stock availability.

• Conduct and oversee product quality tests, equipment calibration, and maintain lab standards.

Environmental and Safety Compliance

• Oversee effluent treatment, environmental reporting, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

• Maintain workplace safety and a clean working environment.

Team and Resource Coordination

• Mobilize manpower, supervise team activities, and ensure operational goals are met efficiently.

• Provide support in training and guiding team members.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

• Monitor and report on production, maintenance, and quality performance.

• Implement improvements and ensure compliance with management systems like ISO 9001 and MSPO SCCS.
