Job summary

PRO-NET, a PROTON subsidiary advancing New Energy Vehicles in Malaysia, seeks a seasoned PR professional to shape and execute our communications strategy. You will lead media relations, craft compelling press materials, and manage product launches while aligning with corporate voice and brand messaging.

You will collaborate with marketing, sales and product teams to drive impactful campaigns, monitor industry trends, and report on performance to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, automotive industry preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong media relations abilities, and proficiency in digital and social media platforms.
• Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.

What You’ll Do

1. Strategic Planning

• Develop and implement PR strategies and campaigns aligned with the company’s objectives and brand messaging.

2. Media Relations

• Build and maintain strong relationships with media professionals and industry influencers by pitching stories, managing press inquiries, and securing media coverage.

3. Content Creation

• Draft and refine press releases, media kits, and other PR materials, ensuring all content is accurate, compelling, and aligned with the company’s voice.
• Develop and craft speeches for management.

4. Event Management

• Plan and coordinate press events, product launches, and other promotional activities.
• Oversee event logistics to ensure smooth and successful execution.

5. Market Analysis

• Monitor industry trends, media coverage, and public sentiment.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis to enhance PR strategies.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product development teams to ensure consistent messaging and cohesive branding across all channels.

7. Reporting

• Track and analyze PR campaign performance.
• Prepare reports on media coverage, campaign effectiveness, and public perception metrics.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, with a focus on the automotive industry preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong media relations abilities, and proficiency in digital and social media platforms.
• Creative thinker, proactive problem-solver, and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Possesses a solid understanding of automotive industry trends and terminology.
