Job summary

ADVANCED DEFENCE SYSTEMS SDN BHD is seeking an Assistant Manager Project Engineer to coordinate and manage engineering projects from initiation through completion, ensuring on-time delivery within scope and budget.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop detailed project plans, monitor progress, and communicate status to management or clients. Defence industry experience and strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / related field).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or engineering projects.
• Defence industry experience is preferred.
• Experience handling Tactical Radio, Semboyan, VHF, HF or IHF related projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
• Professional certification is an advantage (e.g., Project Management certification).
• Strong problem-solving, leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient in project planning and scheduling.

Responsibilities

This is an Assistant Manager Project Engineer position responsible for coordinating and managing engineering projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery on-time, within scope and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
• Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
• Develop test protocol, spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
• Prepare reports and meeting presentation to upper management or clients regarding the status of project or any other related issues
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management from time to time

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / any related field)
