Job summary

Telekom Malaysia is seeking a frontend developer to design, develop, enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot data delivery frontend systems supporting SmartMap Data Portal, SmartMap Explorer, and Integrated Dashboard.

You will implement frontend applications for RESTful APIs and Map Services, ensure modular and robust architecture, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) is required.
• Minimum 3 years of programming language experience and software technology exposure.
• Database setup and administration using ER diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, maintain, support and troubleshoot data delivery frontend systems.
• Develop and customize SmartMap Data Portal, SmartMap Explorer, and Integrated Dashboard.
• Implement frontend applications to support RESTful APIs and Map Services.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely project delivery.

Job description

To design, develop, enhance, maintain, support and troubleshoot data delivery frontend system to meet the requirements which would support all kinds of projects in a timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To design, develop, enhance, maintain and customize new and existing internal & commercial Application System projects:-

• SmartMap Data Portal.
• SmartMap Explorer
• Integrated Dashboard

To implement, maintain, support and troubleshot the development of Frontend Application to support RESTful API & Map Services:-

• Direct data analysis such as Batch Geocode and Batch Reverse Geocode
• Frontend Application for Dashboard

To ensure the Frontend Applications developed are:-

• Modular
• Robust
• Able to integrate with RESTful API & Map Services and seamlessly

To provide project implementation, support and maintenance services for SmartMap products and related application systems:-

• Support project planning, requirement gathering, implementation, deployment and post-go-live activities
• Coordinate with internal teams, business users to ensure successful project delivery
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve system issues, incidents and service requests within agreed timelines
• Perform system configuration, testing, validation and user acceptance support during project implementation
• Provide technical consultancy, user training and knowledge transfer to project stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation, issue logs, change requests and support records
• Conduct system performance monitoring, optimization and preventive maintenance activities
• Support production releases, system upgrades, patches and migration activities
• Provide on-site and remote support for customers and users where required

To support continuous improvement and operational excellence of SmartMap products and services:-

• Analyze user feedback and operational issues to recommend system enhancements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and optimization.
• Participate in project review, lessons learned and service improvement initiatives.
• Support business continuity, backup, recovery and disaster recovery activities.

To design, develop, implement, enhance and maintain the development of SmartMap Data Portal Platform:-

• Study data & user requirements
• Develop plugin-based & hook architecture to support many types of widgets which is extendable & configurable
• Develop a customizable look & feel module via Themes & Appearance setting
• Built in user authentication, permissions & user management which is customizable
• Develop customizable work flow engine to support different requirements

To develop, maintain and document System Design Specification (SDS) for Application & Services:-

• Design physical data structure.
• Design system Interface specifications
• Design system Flow
• Develop program specification
• Develop construction and test plan
• Develop system implementation plan
• Develop system training plan and material
• Develop operational procedure
• Prepare backup and recovery specification

To develop, maintain and document application system documentation:-

• Functional Requirement Specification (FRS)
• System Requirement Specification (SRS)
• System Design Specification (SDS)
• Test case
• Migration release documentation
• System Design, Operational & Handover Documentation

Conduct R&D and study where applicable recommend deployment of new methodology and technology in application system development and enhancement.

To prepare technical proposals and solutions related to SmartMap products and services.

To implement and support any ad-hoc initiative and project plans which involve PDSS.

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE

• Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering)
