Job summary

Arvion Services in Malaysia seeks an Assistant Manager, Field Operations to oversee day-to-day automotive operations across multiple locations. You will lead Supervisors and frontline teams, drive productivity, manage KPIs, and coordinate with Quality, Spare Parts, and Retail to ensure service excellence.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 4–6 years in automotive operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Bandwidth to travel between sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant automotive or high-volume operations experience.
• At least 2 years of supervising or managing teams.
• Practical understanding of automotive workshop, body, and vehicle reconditioning ops.
• Strong ability to manage operational KPIs and boost productivity.
• Experience with manpower planning and resource allocation; strong leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across assigned automotive facilities and ensure activities meet requirements.
• Lead Supervisors, Team Leaders, and frontline teams to achieve targets.
• Review performance metrics: turnaround time, productivity, quality, cost, and manpower.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement improvement actions.
• Ensure workshop and reconditioning activities meet quality and safety standards.
• Plan manpower, equipment, tools, and resources based on needs.
• Conduct regular reviews, site inspections, and performance checks.
• Coordinate with Quality, Spare Parts, Customer Experience, Warranty, and Retail to resolve issues.
• Support launches, relocations, or expansions of sites; ensure readiness.
• Coach team members and strengthen operational capabilities.
• Monitor costs and identify opportunities for efficiency.
• Prepare management updates on performance, issues, and improvements.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

You will oversee day-to-day execution, team performance, resource planning, and service quality while ensuring operations run efficiently and consistently.

What Will You Do:

• Oversee daily operations across assigned automotive facilities and ensure activities run according to operational requirements.
• Lead Supervisors, Team Leaders, and frontline teams to achieve productivity and service targets.
• Review operational performance, including turnaround time, productivity, quality, cost, and manpower utilization.
• Identify bottlenecks, recurring operational issues, and areas of underperformance, then implement appropriate improvement actions.
• Ensure workshop and vehicle reconditioning activities are carried out efficiently and according to required quality and safety standards.
• Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, tools, and other operational resources based on business requirements.
• Conduct regular operational reviews, site inspections, and performance checks to maintain consistent standards.
• Work with internal departments such as Quality, Spare Parts, Customer Experience, Warranty, and Retail to resolve operational issues.
• Support the launch, relocation, or expansion of operational sites by ensuring teams, processes, and resources are ready.
• Coach team members and provide guidance to strengthen operational capabilities and overall team performance.
• Monitor operating costs and identify opportunities to improve resource utilization and efficiency.
• Prepare management updates covering operational performance, productivity, issues, and improvement initiatives.
• Drive a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

What Makes You a Good Fit:

• Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of relevant experience in automotive, workshop, field, service, or high-volume operations.
• At least 2 years of experience managing or supervising teams.
• Practical understanding of automotive workshop, Body & Paint, servicing, or vehicle reconditioning operations.
• Strong experience managing operational KPIs and improving team productivity.
• Confident in handling manpower planning, resource allocation, and operational problem-solving.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate frontline teams.
• Good analytical skills with the ability to identify operational trends and take corrective action.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with operational reports and performance data.
• Comfortable travelling between locations when required.
• Able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment.
