Job summary

Frencken Mechatronics Malaysia is seeking a procurement professional to drive category management, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations for high-precision manufacturing materials and components in Selangor, Malaysia.

The role focuses on optimizing spend, supplier performance, and risk mitigation while coordinating with production planning and logistics to ensure uninterrupted material supply.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category management strategies aligned with business and manufacturing requirements.
• Analyze spend data, market trends, and supplier capabilities to identify sourcing opportunities.
• Lead strategic sourcing activities including RFQ, RFP, tendering, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations.
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and total cost of ownership (TCO) initiatives.
• Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers to ensure reliable supply and competitive pricing.
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews covering quality, cost, delivery, service, and compliance.
• Build strategic relationships with key suppliers and monitor supplier risk.
• Support supplier development and continuous improvement programs.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing agreements, and long-term contracts.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor contract performance and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
• Resolve supplier-related issues and commercial disputes.
• Collaborate with production planning, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
• Review inventory levels and support inventory optimization initiatives.
• Develop contingency plans for critical materials and components.
• Mitigate supply chain risks arising from supplier, market, or geopolitical disruptions.
