Job summary

Frencken Mechatronics Malaysia is seeking a QC Inspector to verify incoming materials, in-process components and finished products. You will read engineering drawings, apply GD&T knowledge, and use precision measuring equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and procedures.

Candidates with 2–4 years in quality control or related manufacturing roles are preferred; fresh graduates may also be considered.

  • Education certificates in Mechanical/Mechatronics or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in Quality Control, Quality Inspection or manufacturing.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant technical qualifications may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection according to plans and drawings.
  • Inspect mechanical components, machined parts, sheet metal, assemblies and products.
  • Verify dimensions, appearance, workmanship and functional requirements.
  • Conduct first-piece, patrol and final inspections as required.
  • Document inspection findings and report non-conformances clearly.
  • Support investigations with Production, Engineering and Quality teams.

The QC Inspector is responsible for conducting inspection and verification of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure that products meet specified quality standards, engineering drawings, customer requirements, and applicable procedures. The role requires strong attention to detail, good knowledge of inspection methods and measuring equipment, and the ability to identify, document, and elevate quality issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection according to established inspection plans, work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Inspect mechanical components, machined parts, sheet metal components, assemblies, and other manufactured products.
  • Verify product dimensions, appearance, workmanship, and functional requirements against specified standards.
  • Conduct first-piece, patrol, and final inspections as required.
  • Ensure inspection activities are completed accurately and within the required timeline.
Measurement & Inspection Equipment
  • Operate and maintain inspection and measuring equipment such as: Vernier caliper, Micrometer, Height gauge, Dial gauge, Pin gauge, Gauge blocks, CMM and other precision measuring equipment, where applicable.
  • Ensure measuring equipment is within calibration validity before use.
  • Handle inspection equipment properly to maintain accuracy and prevent damage.
Drawing & Specification Interpretation
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection standards, and technical documents.
  • Understand dimensional tolerances, geometric tolerances, surface finish requirements, and basic GD&T symbols.
  • Verify dimensions and characteristics against drawing requirements and customer specifications.
Non-Conformance Control
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming materials, components, or finished products.
  • Raise and maintain Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) or other quality records when required.
  • Clearly document inspection findings and provide accurate information to the relevant departments.
  • Support investigation and follow-up of quality issues with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Monitor rework, repair, and disposition activities to ensure requirements are fulfilled.
Quality Documentation & Records
  • Record inspection results accurately in inspection reports, check sheets, ERP/MES systems, or other quality systems.
  • Maintain proper documentation and traceability of inspection records.
  • Ensure inspection records are complete and readily available for internal or customer audits.
  • Support preparation of quality reports and inspection data when required.
Process & Continuous Improvement
  • Highlight recurring quality issues and abnormal conditions to the relevant personnel.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions where required.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to reduce defects, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and maintained.
Compliance & Safety
  • Follow company quality procedures, work instructions, control plans, and inspection standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable ISO and company quality management system requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area.
  • Follow all company safety rules and regulations.
Job Requirements

Education Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in: Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Mechatronics Quality Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.

Experience 2–4 years of relevant experience in Quality Control, Quality Inspection, or manufacturing environment.

Experience in precision manufacturing, machining, sheet metal, assembly, or mechatronics manufacturing will be an advantage.

Fresh graduates with relevant technical qualifications and strong inspection knowledge may also be considered.

Technical Skills
  • Good understanding of quality inspection processes and measurement techniques.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and dimensional tolerances.
  • Proficient in using common precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of inspection documentation and NCR processes.
  • Experience with CMM or other advanced measurement equipment will be an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
