Job summary

Pullman Kuching is seeking an Assistant Housekeeper – Public Area to supervise daily cleaning and upkeep of hotel public spaces, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for guests and staff.

The role requires overseeing Attendants, ensuring standards across lobby and public areas, and coordinating with Engineering on maintenance issues. Local Sarawakian candidates are preferred, with shift work and a service-oriented attitude highly valued.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in housekeeping (hotel environment) is preferred.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.
• Good knowledge of public area cleaning procedures and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Good leadership and team coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and manage daily operational tasks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Open to Malaysian candidates, preferably local Sarawakian.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily cleaning and maintenance of hotel public areas.
• Ensure the lobby, corridors, washrooms, lifts, restaurants, function areas and other public spaces meet hotel standards.
• Assign daily duties and monitor the performance of Public Area Attendants.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Ensure cleaning equipment, chemicals and supplies are used correctly and safely.
• Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and request replenishment when required.
• Coordinate with Engineering and other departments on maintenance issues identified in public areas.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and cleanliness-related concerns.
• Ensure proper cleaning schedules and checklists are followed.
• Train, coach and guide Public Area Attendants on cleaning procedures and service standards.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Report safety hazards, damages or maintenance issues to the relevant department.
• Assist with deep cleaning and special cleaning projects when required.
• Ensure compliance with hotel, hygiene, safety and Accor housekeeping standards.
