Job summary

Sim Leisure Group is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager in Malaysia to oversee daily accounting activities and prepare the full set of accounts. You will support month-end closing, financial reporting, tax compliance, audits and the Finance Manager.

Responsibilities include managing GL/AP/AR, consolidations, cash-flow monitoring, and liaising with auditors and authorities. A degree in accounting/finance and 3–5 years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with full sets of accounts and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full set of accounts including GL, AP, AR, cash book and fixed assets.
• Prepare monthly and year-end closing and consolidation adjustments.
• Generate monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet).
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Prepare information for tax, audits and statutory requirements.
• Liaise with auditors and tax agents as needed.
• Support budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.

The Assistant Finance Manager will manage daily accounting activities and prepare the full set of accounts. The role also supports month-end closing, financial reporting, tax compliance, audits and the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full set of accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash book and Fixed assets.
• Prepare monthly, year-end closing and consolidation adjustment entries.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and monitor cash flow and outstanding balances.
• Prepare information for corporate tax, E-invoice, entertainment tax, audit and statutory requirements.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents and relevant authorities when required.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
• Review financial results and explain significant variances.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems.
• Support and guide junior finance staff where applicable.
• Work with other departments to resolve finance-related matters.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on experience managing a full set of accounts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
• Good analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
