Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead financial accounting and reporting under MFRS, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the group. This role requires a strong technical foundation and the ability to collaborate across functions.

You will review statements, manage GL, oversee AP/AR, support auditors, mentor junior staff, and contribute to budgeting. Manufacturing sector experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting in a full-time role.
• Strong knowledge of MFRS and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and regulatory compliance.
• Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across teams.
• Proven ability to supervise and develop junior team members.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with MFRS and other standards.
• Manage general ledger operations, reconciliations, journal entries, and accounts management.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
• Coordinate with internal/external auditors for readiness and queries.
• Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Analyze variances and prepare explanations/reports for management.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Ensure timely filing of tax returns and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting issues.

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial planning

• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting treatments and best practices

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with regulatory requirements

• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and resolve accounting issues
