Job Description
Our client is a growing organisation with multiple business entities and is looking for an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to support its finance operations and take ownership of day-to-day accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including full sets of accounts.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Review accounting entries, schedules and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities within the required timeline.
Accounts & Finance Operations
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and other accounting functions.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, payables and ensure timely processing of payments and collections.
- Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
- Maintain proper accounting records and ensure all financial documentation is complete and well organised.
- Work closely with internal departments to resolve accounting and finance-related matters.
Budgeting, Cash Flow & Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor the company's cash position.
- Analyse financial results, expenses and variances, and provide insights to management.
- Support management in financial analysis and other ad-hoc business requirements.
Tax, Audit & Compliance
- Assist in tax compliance, including tax computations, estimates and submissions.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents and other professional parties.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents for statutory audits.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and accounting requirements.
Process Improvement & Team Support
- Review and improve accounting processes, procedures and internal controls.
- Assist in implementing improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the Finance team.
- Ensure smooth and timely execution of daily accounting operations.
- Take ownership of accounting matters and support management on ad-hoc finance projects.
Requirements
- Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline .
- Around 5–7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience .
- Candidates currently at Senior Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager level are encouraged to apply.
- Strong hands-on experience in accounting and full set of accounts .
- Good knowledge of financial reporting, month-end closing, reconciliations and accounting operations .
- Experience in budgeting, cash flow management and financial analysis will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of tax, audit and statutory compliance .
- Strong Excel and accounting-system skills.
- Candidates from Property Development, Construction, or other project-based industries are welcome.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and taking ownership of accounting and finance matters.
