Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
To lead and manage financial accounting, reporting, and treasury functions for the property investment and management portfolio, as well as other assigned business units within the Corporate Finance & Accounts Department.
- Oversee the timely preparation and submission of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
- Review and present financial reports, budget submissions, and variance analyses to stakeholders.
- Ensure all accounting treatments are in full compliance with MFRS, statutory regulations, and internal reporting policies.
Payment & Cash Flow Management- Verify and approve payment documents prepared by the team prior to authorization by signatories.
- Serve as an authorized approver for online banking transactions across designated companies and platforms.
- Monitor group cash flow positions to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
- Supervise the day-to-day finance operations of subsidiary companies within the portfolio, ensuring smooth workflows and timely reporting.
- Track and review rental income, service charges, operating expenses, and overall financial performance of properties.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting for Joint Management Body (JMB) accounts and related matters.
Audit, Tax & External Stakeholder Management- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax consultants, bankers, company secretaries, and internal departments to ensure full statutory and governance compliance.
- Manage audit and tax processes, including coordinating information requests and resolving queries promptly.
- Coordinate property valuation exercises with external valuers for audit and corporate purposes.
- Provide strong leadership, coaching, and supervision to the finance team to drive productivity and meet deadlines.
- Ensure all team members adhere to company policies, internal controls, and procedural guidelines.
Additional Duties- Undertake any other assignments and special projects as directed by Top Management and/or Directors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MICPA, CIMA) – completed or in progress – is an advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with prior exposure to external or internal audit.
- Experience in property investment or property management accounting is highly desirable.
- Strong command of MFRS and statutory compliance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and produce insightful management reports.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and capable of meeting tight deadlines under pressure.
- High level of integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong sense of accountability.
