Job summary

Messer Industrial Gases Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager in Ipoh to support the Finance Manager in day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and compliance.

The role requires preparation of management accounts and close activities, with interaction with auditors and external parties. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of

• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in accounting and finance.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and statutory requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• ACCA/CPA or equivalent qualifications are a plus.
• Experience in preparing management accounts and month/year-end closings is advantageous.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is a plus.

About your role

As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will support the Finance Manager in managing finance and accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, month-end closing and compliance. You will also support audits and liaise with relevant external parties when required.

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities
• Review and ensure the accuracy of accounting records, journal entries and account reconciliations

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements and company policies
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers and relevant authorities when required
• Support internal and external audit processes and follow up on audit matters

About you
