Job summary

BYK GLOBAL SDN. BHD. in Malaysia is seeking a Furniture Technical Drafter to create assembly and packaging drawings for knock-down furniture, and to develop step-by-step assembly instructions with clear illustrations for production and end users.

Candidates should have a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Furniture/Industrial/Product Design or Mechanical Engineering, with proficiency in AutoCAD. Knowledge of SketchUp and 3D design software is a plus, and Mandarin proficiency is required to

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or other relevant technical drawing software.
• Knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max or other 3D design software will be an added advantage.
• Ability to read, interpret and prepare accurate technical drawings.
• Knowledge of KD furniture construction, assembly methods, hardware fittings and packaging processes will be an added advantage.
• Strong attention to detail with good organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear, accurate and detailed furniture assembly drawings and packaging drawings for KD furniture products.
• Develop step-by-step assembly instructions with clear illustrations, component identification, hardware details and installation procedures.
• Prepare detailed packaging drawings, including component arrangements, carton dimensions, packing sequences and protective material placement.
• Create, review and revise technical drawings based on product specifications, dimensions and production requirements.
• Ensure assembly and packaging drawings are accurate, easy to understand and practical for production and end users.
• Work closely with the production and packaging teams to verify drawing accuracy and resolve assembly or packaging-related issues.
• Review and update drawings according to product modifications, production feedback and customer requirements.
• Maintain proper records and ensure all technical drawings are updated and organised.
• Assist with other furniture-related technical drawing tasks as required.

Furniture Technical Drafter (Assembly & Packaging Drawings)

Requirements

Willing to learn and work closely with the production team.

Candidates with relevant furniture manufacturing experience will be given preference.

Language Requirements

Mandarin proficiency is required to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking customers and suppliers.
