Job summary

Infineon Technologies Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Engineer Maintenance in the Manufacturing and Operations team. You will provide line support, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and 5S compliance to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Engineering and about 5+ years of technical experience. You will guide junior technicians, troubleshoot equipment issues, and drive improvements in overall equipment efficiency.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in engineering required.
• Approximately 5+ years in technical engineering.
• Strong understanding of equipment in own area.

Responsibilities

• Provide line support for equipment setup, recovery and maintenance to meet KPIs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and complete documentation.
• Ensure 5S, Cleanroom and safety protocol compliance.
• Support tool installation as required.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and execute projects to improve OEE (speed/cost/quality).
• Train junior technicians and guide shift staff toward KPIs.
• Increase responsibilities with competency growth over time.
• Collaborate in an integrated team to maximize tool availability.
• Identify safety requirements including lockout/tagout procedures.
• Track spare parts and consumables usage for production support.
• Provide on-the-job training to new team members.

Your role

Key responsibilities in your new role

• Provide line support for equipment setup, recovery and corrective maintenance to meet KPIs defined in respective functional area
• Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) and complete Perform Preventive Maintenance documentation as required (e-checklist & TECO)
• Ensure the compliance to 5S, Cleanroom and Safety Protocol
• Support the Tools installation as being required
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify root cause and perform corrective action to bring equipment up to support production
• Plan and execute projects to improve Overall Equipment Efficiencies (Speed/Cost/Quality)
• Train junior technician to improve skills and competencies for line sustaining activities
• Guide and lead shift technicians to meet KPIs defined in respective functional area
• Increase in responsibilities as well as depth and breadth with competency level of the tasks executed and technical expertise acquired through professional experience on the job according to targeted role
• Contributes to the accuracy of quality in the area and can therefore impact closely related work teams
• Work as a team member of an integrated team to maximise tool availability and process yield
• Must be able to understand priorities of work in progress
• Requires working with toxic gases/chemicals, high voltage and mechanical hazards with respective personal protective equipment's
• Identify safety requirements including lockout/tagout, and write required procedures
• Tracks and analyses spare and consumables usage to ensure availability for production support
• Solves known problems using basic troubleshooting skills and can function independently in specified area
• Provides on-the-job training to new team members

• Diploma or Degree In Engineering
• Approximately 5+ years of relevant job experience in Technical Engineering
• Profound understanding of principles and concepts of equipment’s in own area
