Job summary

Syarikat Sin Kwang Plastic Industries Sdn Bhd in Kulai, Johor, is seeking an engineering professional to set up new production lines, plan line layout and ensure process control.

You will train operators, review efficiency, work with suppliers on equipment, maintain PFMEA and related documents, and drive continuous improvement across maintenance and quality.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in engineering; minimum 2 years in manufacturing engineering.
• Knowledge of Engineering and Quality System.
• Knowledge of technical drawing, MS Office, Lean manufacturing and quality tools.
• Familiar with manufacturing methods.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up new production lines, plan line layout and capacity.
• Train operators, leaders and technicians on process and equipment.
• Review manufacturing efficiency via line balancing, cycle time and workflow planning.
• Coordinate with suppliers on equipment buyoff, installation, commissioning and upgrades.
• Maintain engineering documents (Process Flow, WI, PFMEA, Control Plan, ISIR, PCR, MTM, TTNF, etc.).
• Perform daily tester/machine buy-off with Golden Sample/Block.
• Conduct yearly GRR and Gauge R&R studies.
• Update tester yield data and take corrective actions.
• Engage in continuous improvement activities (5S, JDI, SGA).
• Support quality with PFMEA risk assessments and corrective actions.

Job description

To setup new production lines, prepare line layout, estimate HC & CT and line capacity.

Provide training to operator, leaders and technicians on process and equipment related knowledge during NPI stage.

Regularly review manufacturing efficiency by line balancing, cycle time analyzing and planning work flow, space requirement and equipment layout.

Work with supplier on new equipment buyoff, installing and commissioning new PE, monitoring modifications, upgrades and troubleshooting to ensure that customer’s requirements/ specification are meet and production output meeting orders.

Prepare, update & maintain engineering document (Process Flow, WI, PFMEA, Control Plan, ISIR, PCR, MTM, TTNF and etc.)

To perform daily buy off tester/machine with Golden Sample/Block.

Conduct yearly GRR & Gage 1 study for testers & machine.

Update & review tester yield data by daily FTPR and RCCA report, take necessary action to resolve it.

Responsible to conduct or get involved continue improvement activity. Example: Just Do It, SGA, etc.

Conduct failure analysis with corrective actions for day to day quality issue and provide rework flow if required.

Revisit PFMEA for risk assessment on quality issues feedback from internal / customer with corrective and preventive actions if required.

Attend meeting and training as needed to support organization activity.

Perform any other duties as and when assigned by superior.

Quality Department

Securing supply parts to comply with customer requirements, reviewing engineering and process manufacturing specifications in order to ensure no risk on the functionality of the parts received.

Involving in supplier interface processes, such as issue resolution, root cause analysis, qualification or any deviation which impact the product quality.

Participating in analysis and reviewing the RCA and corrective / preventive action processes of supplier quality issues / Ascertain effective implementation of 8D/CAPA.

Implements improvement plans for any quality-related complaints on products/processes from the supplier or customer.

Performing regular quality control audits (either by video conferences or site visit) to ensure supplier continue to work in compliance with company and customers standards.

Maintaining detailed reports from supplier quality, including defect rates and areas that result in flaws.

Maintenance Department

Responding to breakdowns of machinery/tester at zone A (mainline), B (sub-assy), C (packaging).

Assist senior engineer to plan and undertake schedule maintenance including preventive maintenance.

Assist senior engineer to obtain specialist components, fixtures or fittings and dealing with supplier.

Assist senior engineer managing budgets and financial records.

Assist senior engineer managing stocks of supplies and equipment.

Responsible to diagnose faults/breakdown of the machinery/tester.

Supervising technician staff.

Qualification & Requirements

Degree / Diploma in any engineering field or minimum 2 years engineering work experience in manufacturing work environment.

Knowledge of Engineering and Quality System.
