Role Description

The Assistant Director of Sales (MICE) is a full-time, on-site role based at Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel in Petaling Jaya. This position is responsible for driving Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) business through proactive sales activities, including prospecting, qualifying leads, and closing group and event bookings. The role involves managing key client relationships, preparing proposals and contracts, coordinating site inspections, and collaborating closely with Events, Operations, and Revenue teams to ensure seamless delivery of group and meeting services. The Assistant Director of Sales (MICE) monitors market trends, develops targeted sales strategies, and participates in sales calls, networking events, and trade activities to expand market share. The role also supports reporting, forecasting, and the training and guidance of team members to achieve sales targets and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong Sales and Business Development skills, with a proven track record in achieving revenue and MICE targets.
• Experience in Sales Operations, including pipeline management, forecasting, reporting, and use of sales systems or CRM tools.
• Excellent Customer Service capabilities, with a focus on building long-term client relationships and delivering high-quality experiences.
• Demonstrated Team Management skills, including mentoring, coordination, and collaboration across departments.
• Background in hospitality or MICE sales, preferably in a hotel or conference venue environment.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present proposals and conduct professional meetings.
• Ability to work on-site in Petaling Jaya, manage multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
