Job summary

Sunray Construction & Interior Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Contract Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead tender submissions on Penang Island, including costings and pre-contract activities. The role requires managing a team of QS professionals and coordinating with consultants.

The position is based at The One, Bayan Lepas, with duties centered on tendering, site understanding, and post-tender support. Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin is valued for client interactions.

Qualifications

• At least a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Proven experience in tendering and pre-contract activities.
• English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin are desirable for client/partner communication.

Responsibilities

• Tender quotations from suppliers/sub-contractors for profitable margins.
• Lead a team of Quantity Surveyors for tender submissions.
• Ensure proper costing for management decisions prior to tender submissions.
• Attend tender interviews as needed.
• Review post-tender replies, adjustments and submissions.
• Coordinate information for tender participation including measurement and cost reports.
• Support post-tender contract administration and scope briefing with Contracts Team.

AtSunray Construction & Interior Sdn Bhd, we are a leading construction and interior fit-out company based at Kuala Lumpur and currently looking for Assistant Contract Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor in Penang Island. This position will mainly responsible for tender.

Job Responsibilities:

Pre Contracts:

Tender quotations from suppliers/sub-contractors and puts up tender submissions at an appropriate pricing with a view of securing projects at a profitable margin.

• Leads a team of Quantity Surveyors to be responsible for tender submissions;
• Ensures proper costing for management decision, prior to tender submissions;
• Takes the lead and attends tender interviews as and when needed;
• Review post tender replies, adjustments and tender submissions;
• Ensures contracts awarded deviate from tender conditions and all drawings, specifications, etc;
• Oversees the sourcing and preparation of information for participation in tender exercise including measurement, inviting quotations, costing report and submission of tenders;
• Attends site show round to understand the project requirements as needed;
• Guides in the efforts of seeking clarifications with respective consultants regarding the discrepancies in the scope of work and drawings and ensures the replacement of addendum, drawings, etc after clarifications;
• Works closely with Contracts Team and provides assistance on post-tender contract administration such as scope of works briefing, etc.
  

Job Requirements:

• At least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Quantity Survey, Architecture or equivalent.
• Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin (deal with Mandarin-speaking clients and partners)
• At least 5 - 7 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required.

• Preferable to have experience working in ID firm.
• Possess good negotiation skills, meticulous, independent.
