Job summary

Modular Scale is seeking a senior Quantity Surveyor to manage contracts, tenders, and budgets for upcoming projects in Malaysia. You will prepare cost estimates, oversee progress claims, and issue payment certificates while coordinating with project teams to ensure timely delivery.

Applicants should have a Professional Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's in Quantity Surveying and at least five years' experience in QS, contract administration, and procurement.

Qualifications

  • Professional Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s/Postgraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, contract management, or project management within the interior design or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, procurement processes, and supplier negotiations.
  • Resourceful in sourcing and maintaining a reliable network of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and project management tools.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and manage tender documents, cost estimates, and project budgets; submit tenders on time and attend tender interviews as required.
  • Oversee monthly progress claims, manage variation orders, finalize accounts, and prepare payment certificates.
  • Draft and issue Letters of Award/Appointment for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage subcontractors and suppliers for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Attend site meetings, perform site valuations, and coordinate with project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain comprehensive contract records and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Review, oversee, and verify monthly progress and financial reports prepared by team members, and oversee final account preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior contract executives, promoting knowledge sharing and team development.
