Job summary

QES Group of Companies in Malaysia is seeking an Assembly Technician to join its manufacturing team. The role involves assembling, wiring, testing, and commissioning of machinery per engineering drawings, with hands-on involvement alongside engineers.

We welcome fresh graduates with a Diploma in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering. Familiarity with reading schematics and basic documentation is preferred; travel to customer sites may be required occasionally.

Qualifications

• Certificate / Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings, technical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience with machinery, automation equipment, or production equipment is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test and commission machinery and equipment.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly per drawings, specs and work instructions.
• Assist engineers in machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting and installation.
• Conduct functional testing and inspection to ensure specifications and quality.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve mechanical/electrical issues during assembly/testing.
• Maintain records and documentation of activities and ensure SOPs and safety standards are followed.

Job description

We are principally involved in manufacturing of optical inspection, measurement & automated handling equipment for Semiconductor industry.

In line with our business expansion, we are currently seeking a motivated and hands-on candidate to join our team as Assembly Technician.

General Responsibilities:-

Perform assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning of machinery and equipment.

Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly work according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

Assist engineers in machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and installation activities.

Conduct functional testing and inspection of machines to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues during the assembly and testing process.

Perform basic electrical wiring, component installation, and mechanical fitting as required.

Support engineers in machine modification, improvement, and enhancement activities.

Ensure assembly and production activities are completed accurately and according to the required schedule.

Maintain proper records and documentation related to assembly, testing, inspection, and troubleshooting activities.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company SOPs, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Work closely with engineers and other departments to resolve technical and production-related issues.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.

Support machine installation and commissioning activities at customer sites when required.

Provide technical support to ensure smooth and efficient production activities.

Any other related tasks assigned by the superior from time to time.

Requirements:-

Certificate / Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.

Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Candidates with experience in machinery assembly, equipment installation, wiring, testing, or troubleshooting will have an added advantage.

Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.

Able to read and understand engineering drawings, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.

Hands-on experience with machinery, automation equipment, or production equipment is an added advantage.

Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Computer literate and able to perform basic documentation using Microsoft Office.

Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work effectively in a team.

Willing to work in a hands‑on production and assembly environment.

Able to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.

Possess own transport and willing to travel locally/outstation when required.
