Job summary

QES Group of Companies is seeking a Cleanroom Maintenance Technician in Penang to monitor environmental controls, support operations, and perform routine maintenance on cleanroom equipment and facilities.

You will ensure safety compliance and participate in 5S practices, with responsibilities spanning setup, inspection, and coordination with engineers and suppliers to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in cleanroom operations, facilities maintenance, or industrial maintenance will be an advantage.
• Familiar with Cleanroom Operations and cleanroom environmental requirements.
• Familiar with 5S practices and workplace safety requirements.
• Able to work independently as well as collaborate with engineering, operations, and other relevant teams.
• Willing to support cleanroom setup, maintenance, and related project activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cleanroom environmental controls and ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
• Support setup, operation, and maintenance of cleanroom facilities, systems and equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure proper operation and reliability.
• Assist in monitoring cleanroom conditions including temperature, humidity and cleanliness.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers on maintenance and facility matters.
• Assist in preventive maintenance scheduling and documentation.

Job description

In line with the business expansion, we are currently seeking a motivated candidate to fill the vacancy of Cleanroom Maintenance Technician.

General Responsibilities:-

Monitor cleanroom environmental controls and ensure compliance with established procedures, standards, and operational requirements.

Support the setup, operation, and maintenance of cleanroom facilities, systems, and equipment.

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of cleanroom facilities and related systems to ensure proper operation and reliability.

Assist in the monitoring of cleanroom conditions, including temperature, humidity, pressure differential, cleanliness, and other relevant parameters.

Identify and report abnormalities, equipment issues, or deviations from established cleanroom requirements.

Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate with relevant parties for corrective and preventive maintenance activities.

Support cleanroom construction, installation, commissioning, and setup activities from the early stages of the project.

Support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements within the cleanroom and related work areas.

Oversee and support the implementation and compliance of 5S within the cleanroom and maintenance areas.

Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with established procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Maintain proper records and documentation of inspection, maintenance, monitoring, and corrective actions.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, engineers, and other departments on cleanroom maintenance and facility-related matters.

Assist in the preparation and implementation of preventive maintenance schedules.

Respond to maintenance issues and support timely resolution to minimize operational disruption.

Participate in internal audits, inspections, and continuous improvement activities related to cleanroom operations, safety, and 5S.

Perform any other ad hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by the superior.

Requirements:-

Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.

Relevant experience in cleanroom operations, facilities maintenance, or industrial maintenance will be an advantage.

Familiar with Cleanroom Operations and cleanroom environmental requirements.

Familiar with 5S practices and workplace safety requirements.

Able to support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with established safety procedures.

Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Able to work independently as well as collaborate with engineering, operations, and other relevant teams.

Willing to support cleanroom setup, maintenance, and related project activities.

Special Skills / Attributes:-

Familiar with Cleanroom Operations.

Familiar with 5S.

Good awareness of workplace safety and safety initiatives.

Responsible, disciplined, and attentive to details.

Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Able to work in a controlled cleanroom environment.

Additional Advantage / Qualification:-

Possess Chargeman A0 certification or above.

Knowledge or experience in electrical systems, facility maintenance, or cleanroom-related electrical systems will be an advantage.

Chargeman A0 is preferred to support compliance with the applicable ST requirements for the Solar Energy System
