Job summary

SAM Malaysia is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team in Penang. You will read and interpret technical drawings, prepare and assemble parts, and operate equipment under supervisor guidance to meet delivery dates.

You will perform regular tests and inspections, maintain calibration of tools, and ensure compliance with safety procedures. The role requires 1–2 years in assembly or manufacturing and a focus on quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Minimum SPM/Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or related field.
Minimum 1–2 years working experience in assembly or manufacturing environment.
Able to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, or assembly manuals.
Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments; familiarity with PPE requirements and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

To perform all assembly job for all parts to meet customer delivery date.
To ensure all parts or components follow the correct assembly details and SOP/work instructions.
To read and understand process documents, work instructions and drawings to gather information regarding the job.
To set up, arrange, and operate equipment as per specifications from the supervisor.
To conduct regular tests and inspection procedures to ensure product conformity to specifications.
To identify needs for improvement and convey to senior personnel to maintain product quality.
To maintain and update test and inspection results related to product specifications.
To ensure all instruments and tools are calibrated and safe to use; maintain cleanliness of tools.
To attend daily production meetings and prepare all job tasks accordingly.
To assist supervisor or engineers for any processes when required.
