Job summary

Hilton in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Housekeeper to support the Executive Housekeeper in managing the Housekeeping department and stand in during absences. You will lead trainings, supervise staff on guest floors and public areas, schedule teams, inspect rooms, and help manage budgets and supplies.

Fluent communication and strong leadership are essential to deliver top-tier guest service and maintain high cleaning standards across the hotel.

Qualifications

• 3 years as a Floor Supervisor or 1 year as an Assistant Floor Manager / Floor Manager.
• Responsive and customer focused.
• Able to derive excellence as well as the routine work.
• Communicate effectively and clearly.
• Good listener and considerate to the concerns of others.
• Strong training, leadership and people management skills.
• Guest oriented and able to confidently build and exceed service standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills and possess an attention to details.
• Good knowledge of housekeeping areas such as guest floor area and public area operation basics.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Housekeeper to institute department SOPs and P&Ps, directing daily operations to maintain high cleaning standards.
• Supervise department trainings, methods and procedures for team development.
• Supervise team members on guest floors and public areas.
• Draw up a balanced team schedule.
• Evaluate daily performance of the team.
• Inspect guestrooms, guest floors, and back stairways to ensure standards.
• Oversee daily laundry operations when needed.
• Lead daily briefings with Floor Managers and Floor Supervisors.
• Assist in housekeeping meetings and communicate management decisions in absence of EH.
• Attend meetings to discuss improvements and inform subordinates.
• Maintain communication with Engineering for repairs and maintenance of rooms.
• Consult with Front Office regarding room blocking for repairs and return for sale.
• Assist in annual housekeeping budgets and control expenses.
• Ensure supplies and stock replenishment; adhere to hotel security policies.
