Job summary

Indium Corporation is seeking an Area Technical Manager in Malaysia to provide technical support for sales, lead regional technical services, and foster growth in staff within the territory. You will collaborate with customers, distributors and internal teams to drive innovative applications and extend existing technologies.

Ideal candidates have 5 years in process engineering in semiconductor packaging/SMT, strong English communication, and a proven leadership record.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in a process engineering role in semiconductor packaging or SMT.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong written and spoken English skills.
• Travel within the region as needed.
• Leadership abilities and customer/supplier relationship knowledge.
• Knowledge of SPC, troubleshooting and 8D reports is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Render technical support to sales activities and provide on-site evaluations.

Job description

The Area Technical Manager's core responsibility is to render technical support to sales activities. The ATM is accountable for all technical services in his assigned territory and is responsible for the growth and development of staff reporting to him (if there is any).

Key responsibilities

Provides technical support and services, such as offering product and process recommendations, troubleshooting, and conducting on-site product evaluations and qualifications.

Educates, trains and acts as a technical resource for customers, distributors and internally.

Carry the role of a technical spokesperson for the company.

Provide customers' feedback on technical issues/requirements.

Identify, plan, recommend and complete technical programs leading to innovative applications and extensions of existing and new technologies having major importance to Indium Corporation's business.

Establish extensive intra-department interactions and initiate inter-department interactions to develop a network of support (technical, manufacturing, engineering, R&D, sales, and marketing) to facilitate program completion.

Participates in technical strategic planning.

May assist in planning regional Business & Marketing goals.

Establish a Network and good reputation, promoting Indium's value as the industry's technical leader.

Documents experimental data/observations, prepares reports, writes technical papers/blogs, and makes oral presentations.

About you

5 years of experience in a process engineering role in a Semiconductor packaging or SMT environment.

Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.

Strong written/oral communication skills in English language are necessary.

Responsible for task completion.

Independent self-starter & ability to travel within the region.

Strong team player with good leadership skills and knowledge of customer/supplier relationships.

Knowledge of SPC, troubleshooting and 8D reports is a plus.

Bachelor/Master Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related engineering field.

Ability to take responsibility and drive the area's daily activities.

Able to handle stress and work within constraints.
