Job summary

Gough Recruitment (Hong Kong) Pty Limited is seeking an experienced Architectural Coordinator to support delivery of mission-critical infrastructure projects in Malaysia. You will coordinate architectural, structural and MEP works, review technical documentation, and ensure design compliance on site.

Responsibilities include site inspections, QA, liaising with consultants and contractors, and maintaining thorough project records. The role requires on-site work in Johor and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in architectural coordination, construction, consultancy, or project delivery environments.
• Good understanding of Malaysian building regulations, UBBL, local authority requirements, and passive fire protection standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD with experience reviewing technical drawings and construction documentation.
• Exposure to BIM/Revit and multidisciplinary project coordination is advantageous.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Willing to travel within Johor and work on-site as required.
• Comfortable to work on non-working hours due to project needs.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, material submissions, and related technical documentation.
• Coordinate architectural works with structural, MEP, and project teams to ensure design compliance and constructability.
• Monitor site implementation of architectural finishes, façade works, waterproofing, accessibility requirements, and passive fire protection systems.
• Conduct site inspections, identify defects or non-conformances, and drive timely corrective actions.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to resolve technical and interface issues.
• Support authority submissions, inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and project close-out documentation.
• Maintain project records including RFIs, inspection reports, technical submissions, as-built drawings, and handover documentation.
