Job summary

Hitachi Group in Malaysia seeks an engineering support consultant to deliver end-to-end technical solutions at customer sites. You will understand requirements, run benchmarks, provide consultation, develop proposals and statements of works, and ensure customer satisfaction.

The role involves CAD/CAM/PLM deployment, hardware and software setup, troubleshooting, and coordinating with stakeholders to meet success criteria. Travel to customer sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Engineering/Mechatronics.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and PDM/PLM is advantageous.
• Familiar with industrial protocols, networking and IT architecture.
• Experience in software installation, configuration and system integration.
• SAT knowledge and site acceptance testing familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive technical and application supports, understand requirements, and run benchmarks when necessary.
• Understand industrial protocol, industrial network diagram and IT network diagram.
• Provide consulting services at the customer site, develop proposal and statement of works for projects with customers.
• Answer customer questions relating to products, competitive products, and technical issues relating to product integration within the customer’s environment.
• Ensure customer satisfaction to promote retention by engaging with the customer.
• Perform Technical Requirement Study with customer and application team to deliver requirements & technical specifications.
• Perform hardware setup, software setup and SAT as a solution deliverable.
• Assist customers in troubleshooting software application issues and provide solutions or workarounds.
• Meeting with stakeholders to discuss and define expectations and success criteria.
• Learn the customer AS-IS environment.
• Deploy, install, troubleshoot CAD/PLM/PDM systems and related software, and fix issues.
• Prepare, develop, and present technical documentation as required.
• Assist in ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned by management.

• Provide consulting services at the customer site. Understand customer needs, work closely with them. Develop proposal and statement of works for projects with customers.
• Answer customer questions relating to products, competitive products, and technical issues relating to product integration within the customer’s environment.
• Ensure customer satisfaction to promote customer retention by upholding quality of services through engagement with customer.
• To perform Technical Requirement Study with customer and the application team to deliver requirement & technical specifications.
• Perform hardware setup, software setup and site acceptance test as solution deliverable.
• Assist customers in troubleshooting software application issues and provide solutions or workarounds in a professional manner.
• Meeting with stakeholders to discuss, define the expectations and success criteria.
• Learning of customer AS-IS environment.
• Perform CAD/ CAM/ Product Data Management (PDM)/ Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system deployment, installation, implementation, troubleshooting and fixing.
• Perform application, troubleshoot, and identify root cause of an application errors, then perform debug, fix or workaround.
• Prepare, develop, and present technical documentation as and when required.
• Assist in any other ad-hoc task and project assigned by your superior or management

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience in CAD/CAM, Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or related engineering software solutions is an advantage.
• Familiarity with industrial protocols, industrial networking, and IT network architecture.
• Experience in software installation, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, and system integration.
• Basic understanding of hardware and software setup, system testing, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Customer-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites when required
