Job summary
FOCUS Hotmelt Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is hiring an Application Technical Engineer - Hygiene to provide application technical support to customers and Sales/Marketing teams.
You will support customer machine trials, product evaluations and troubleshooting at customer sites, and understand customer requirements to recommend technical solutions. You will work with Sales and R&D to develop new applications, coordinate with Quality and Customer Service to resolve issues, identify risks and share feedback
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Polymer/Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in application engineering, technical service, process engineering or manufacturing technical support.
- Experience in hot melt adhesives, hygiene/nonwoven, converting, coating or related manufacturing applications is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience in customer trials and technical troubleshooting is preferred.
- Willing to travel frequently within Southeast Asia, approximately 10–15 days per month.
- Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide application technical support to customers and Sales/Marketing teams.
- Support customer machine trials, product evaluations and troubleshooting at customer sites.
- Understand customer application requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
- Work with Sales and R&D to develop new applications and customer opportunities.
- Coordinate with Quality and Customer Service to resolve customer technical issues and complaints.
- Identify application risks and provide preventive recommendations.
- Gather market, competitor and application information and share feedback with the HQ Technical Team.
- Prepare technical/trial reports and other related documentation.
