Job summary

Maybank is seeking an Application Support Engineer to maintain enterprise applications, monitor performance, and resolve incidents. You will collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable solutions.

The role requires a degree in Computer Science or IT, strong SQL skills, Linux scripting, ITIL familiarity, and experience with Agile methodologies. Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT.
Strong understanding of application architecture and support methods.
SQL and relational databases (Oracle, MySQL) proficiency.
Experience with Linux/Unix and scripting (Shell, Python).
Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with Agile practices (Scrum or Kanban).
Knowledge of Java/.NET apps and middleware.
Understanding of API integrations and web services.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise applications to ensure high availability and performance.
Investigate and resolve application‑related incidents, problems, and service requests within SLAs.
Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurring issues.
Collaborate with development teams for bug fixes, enhancements, and deployments.
Manage configurations, patches, and upgrades in production and non-production environments.
Document processes, troubleshooting steps, and technical solutions for knowledge sharing.
Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards during maintenance.
Provide on‑call support and participate in incident management during outages.
