Job summary

Sperton Global AS in Malaysia is seeking an IT Application Support Specialist to provide frontline assistance to business users, respond to queries, and ensure timely closure of requests. You will work on incident resolution with SLAs and coordinate with developers to deploy fixes.

The role requires familiarity with legacy OS/400 environments, RPG and COBOL languages, and a proactive approach to root-cause analysis, capacity monitoring, and participation in DR/BCM activities.

Qualifications

• OS/400 system familiarity.
• RPG and COBOL programming knowledge.
• Experience with Sliverlake banking system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide application support to business users and respond to queries promptly.
• Follow through requests to proper closure and meet SLAs for incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis to identify permanent solutions and prevent recurrences.
• Proactively manage incidents and coordinate with teams for changes and releases.
• Collaborate with development to validate resolutions and production transitions.
• Participate in DR/BCM activities and capacity monitoring and forecasting.
